Ryan’s interest in physical activity was sparked by his introduction to squash as a teen. However, after a string of injuries forced him to take a break from the sport, he decided to pursue his Kinesiology degree to better understand the physiology behind injury recovery and chronic pain. After years of inactivity, Ryan’s first-hand experience with injury recovery and chronic pain, coupled with his education and helping others break out of their pain cycle has taught him that rest alone doesn’t lead to recovery but rather a combination of rest and adequate movement that helps your body, help itself.

Ryan’s breadth of experience in elderly fitness, spinal cord injury exercise, athletic development, youth multi-sport and squash coaching all influence his coaching style where he melds traditional strength and conditioning with play, balance & stability drills, motor coordination and sport specific development. As a certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist, Ryan is qualified to work with individuals living with chronic health conditions, using exercise as medicine for the body, making it more resilient and capable.

To Ryan, exercise isn’t a means to an end, but rather an opportunity to challenge oneself, engage with like-minded people, and move the way our bodies have evolved to move with the bonus of getting healthier along the way. Whether it is going for an unplanned hike, joining your kids and grandkids at the playground or excelling at the activity of your choosing, Ryan views exercise as freedom that allows us to expose ourselves to the full spectrum of emotions and activities that the world offers us to experience.

Kellen’s path to coaching began as a career in retail management. The structure and training provided were things he took to easily- he had just completed his university degree in English and was eager to focus his energy. After 15 years in various roles, working both directly with teams and customers, and on national level projects, a much more meaningful opportunity opened up at his gym. In 2021, Kellen began his transition from general manager to coach and has not looked back. The transition has been incredible, leveraging his history with motivation and talent development to engage and support individual clients with their physical journeys and outdoor adventures.

Kellen spent his early years playing a variety of sports including volleyball, wrestling, and paddling. In 2017, he found CrossFit and loved the variety of movement and challenging workouts. The gym community was incredibly supportive and that’s what initially got Kellen thinking about a career switch.

Kellen loves a good adventure and in 2022 him and his partner (Whitney) completed a full-day kayak trip around the Na Pali coast of Kauai. He highly recommends it for anyone up for some type 2 fun in the truest sense of the term. There is nothing like a shared challenge, and a few flips of a kayak a mile from shore, to really ensure a sense of accomplishment and a good night’s sleep.

When not in the gym, you can likely find Kellen at a concert, running around the dog park with his pup (Pepper), playing dungeons and dragons, or enjoying (yet another) coffee.

Bailey has been exploring the way her body can move since the day she could stand up and balance on skis. She’s always felt more connected to herself and her environment through movement as she grew up canoeing the rivers and lakes of Ontario.

Bailey’s goal is to support you in optimizing your intrinsic physical literacy by creating a healthy dialogue with your body and mind, reducing barriers with strategies to resist injury and supporting mental health through confident movement. During her time at university, Bailey studied kinesiology and mechanical engineering to develop her understanding of human biomechanics. Throughout her studies, she was fascinated with neuroscience and how to establish a healthy mind-body connection through adaptation. After late nights spent at the library hunched over math equations and experiencing achy joints with hours of sitting at her computer, she decided to put down her books for the summer and put these mind-body ideas into practice.

Jumping into the wilderness, Bailey co-led two fifteen-day canoe and portage trips for 13 young women in the Kipawa Forest Reserve, Quebec. In the following summers, Bailey planted trees throughout the mountains of British Columbia. In planting over 300,000 trees, she developed awareness of how to move most efficiently through the land by learning how to best listen to her body. During these experiences, she truly discovered that every day you need to meet yourself where you’re at, while exploring ways to grow and push yourself in a way that feels good for you - the sweet spot of wholesome discomfort.

With her recent experience working at a biomechanical analysis company, followed by being an Outdoor Educator, she’s come to understand that functional movement, as well as play, are key foundations to navigate daily activities and your environment with confidence.

Bailey believes that individuals’ adaptability allows us to explore and reinvent what we think is possible. She is so excited to help you unlock your potential within and rediscover your mind and body through movement by supporting your development in strength, grace, and resilience.
