Max Clarkson has felt passionate about health, movement and wellness and the body’s physical potential since his early life playing basketball as a kid, to playing for the University of Ottawa. His fitness journey has taken him through sport, powerlifting, gymnastics, handstands, calisthenics, mobility, rehabilitative exercise, to where he is now blending it all while focusing on floor-based skills like animal flow, handstands and soft acrobatics.

Max connects both personal training and Massage Therapy as hybrid modalities allowing him to serve in a more holistic way than one scope alone.

His methodologies of movement coaching blend teaching the fundamentals of key movement patterns, addressing movement limitations with mobility and myofascial release, and programming strength protocols on a solid foundation of the key movement basics.

With certifications in Animal Flow, personal training, and over a decade of experience as a registered massage therapist, his approach bridges the gap between movement and recovery. Whether you’re dealing with pain, stiffness, or just want to feel more connected to your body, he offers practical, grounded support that meets you where you’re at.

He helps people reconnect with their bodies through mindful movement, blending animal flow, rehabilitative exercise, functional training, and weight lifting.

He has made it his mission to help others unlock their own potential to achieve greater capacities to move and be well.

Max’s current training passion is in gymnastics, handstands, soft acrobatics and animal flow. Blending his developed strength from years of training into floor based movement flow. Remembering that his why is to be embodied, access flow state, play and adventure in nature.

Nico’s path into coaching grew not just from an early relationship with sport, but from experiencing both the loss and rebuilding of physical capacity over time. After growing up active, years of physically demanding work and long stretches of sedentary, desk-based roles took their toll in different ways. Moving between overuse, underuse, and inconsistency gave him first-hand insight into how easily physicality can erode. His journey back toward resilient, capable movement and re-establishing the strength, coordination, and confidence of his youth led him to Restore Human, where that process continues both personally and professionally.

As a coach, Nico focuses on helping people build strength and mobility for the long term. He is an ISSA-certified Personal Trainer and MovNat Level 1 coach, and his work is grounded in the Restore Human Method emphasizing Physical Literacy as the foundation for long-term strength and creating habits for consistency. He places particular emphasis on building and maintaining muscle to support overall health, physical capacity, resilience, and independence as we age. His coaching prioritizes clear structure, manageable progression, and training that fits into real life.

Outside of coaching, Nico has pursued long-form physical challenges that have shaped how he thinks about training. Twice cycling from Victoria to California, he developed a deep respect for pacing, recovery, and incremental progress. These experiences inform his belief that meaningful physical change comes from patience, adaptability, and the ability to show up consistently over time.
